This is a concentrated version of a skin salve I made in the Fall of 2019. The original, Sting Soother, (now back in the shop!), was made specifically for bug bites, rashes and stings, from an organic medicinal olive oil based blend of herbs and bees wax.
After weeks of washing my hands-10 times daily-and being exposed to harsh hand sanitizers and bleach (Pandemic season), my fingers began to crack. My heavy duty hand lotions weren't doing enough and I was beginning to feel desperate. I reached for my Sting Soother salve hoping for some relief. I was amazed by the results and gave some to a friend complaining of the same thing. After trying it she insisted I make more and offer it for sale. Derma Dew was born.
DD Salve is a version of the original Sting Soother Salve, adjusted to focus on ingredients and herbal allies known to nourish, hydrate and promote healing of our skin. It is concentrated.
To apply I recommend using a clean utensil or instrument to remove salve from the tin, thereby keeping the salve clean. It requires a very small amount, massaged into skin and left to absorb (which it will), for about 5 minutes. This is super concentrated so you’ll need less than you’re used to applying. For areas like finger tips, that are severely damaged you can top with a bit more and cover with a bandaid to allow the salve time to really penetrate and heal.
The ingredients are certified organic. It has a small amount of rosemary antioxidant to preserve it. Though it does not spoil easily, I recommend keeping it in your fridge if not using for an extended time.
The color is natural and will vary slightly from batch to batch. It is naturally fragrant, reminiscent of fresh cut herbs. You may also see small specks of plant that were so fine they made it through the pressing process. Do not be alarmed, this is natural.
I make these in small batches with love and a focus on the herbs and plant allies best suited to healing our skin.

Ingredient Highlights
Gotu Kola: Used extensively in India for skin disease, it has an established ability to promote wound healing and tissue repair.
Comfrey: Used for centuries as a healing aid. It contains allantoin, a substance that stimulates cell growth and healing.
